Travel guidelines for people going to watch Sea Games 2017


Members of the public who wish to support their favorite athlete during the Kuala Lumpur 29th Sea Games can now plan their journey as the authorities have issued travel guidelines to three main clusters.

Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC) in joint effort with the Land, Public Transport Commission (SPAD) issued the guidelines to encourage the public to use public transportation during the Sea Games.

In a statement Youth and Sports Ministry said Kuala Lumpur Sports City in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Jalan Dutamas and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) are the three main clusters, to obtain information which would help public to plan their journey.

MASOC hoped public will choose to use public transportation as it will help to ease traffic around the area.

Public who use Rapid Rail Service to any Sea Games venue are entitled to a 50 per cent discount until Aug 31.

Also, a total of 18,000 parking bays are available at various rail stations. Below are the travel guidelines for the public;
1. The Sea Games matches at KL Sports City will start on Aug 15 until 30, which sees nine events taking place, namely, aquatics, archery, athletics, badminton, hockey and squash. Nearest rail station is Light Rail Transit (LRT) Bukit Jalil (walking less than 400 meters)

Bus routes;
i)570 – PKNS Serdang Jaya – LRT Bukit Jalil (90 minutes)
ii)T580 – LRT Awan Besar – Technology Park Malaysia (45 minutes)
iii)T582 – LRT Bukit Jalil – LRT Salak Selatan (40 minutes)
iv)T584 – Desa Petaling – LRT Salak Selatan (60 minutes)
v)652 – LRT Sri Petaling – HAB Pasar Seni (45 minutes)
2. At MITEC about nine sports events, namely boxing, fencing, gymnastic, indoor hockey, muay thai, table tennis, volleyball and weightlifting. The events will start from Aug 20 until 30. The nearest rail station is MRT Semantan and LRT/Monorail Titiwangsa.
Bus routes
i) 850 – KL Sentral – Solaris Dutamas (30 – 60 minutes)
ii)851 – HAB Pasar Seni – Mahkamah Duta (40 minutes) only weekdays
iii)852 – Terminal Pekeliling – Matrade (30 minutes) only weekdays
iv)T8521 – MRT Semantan – Kompleks Mahkamah (10 minutes)
On weekends, public are advised to use direct bus services from Titiwangsa bus hub.
3. At KLCC, about six sports will be held, from billiard and snooker, judo, karate, pencak silat, taekwondo and wushu, on Aug 20 until 29. The nearest rail station is LRT KLCC and MRT/Monorail Bukit Bintang.

ii)300 – Pandan Mewah – HAB Munshi Abdullah (5 minutes)
iii)302 – KLCC – Terminal Pekeliling (15 minutes)
iv)303 – Taman Mulia Jaya – HAB Munshi Abdullah (15 minutes)
v) 402 – LRT Maluri – Titiwangsa by KLCC (30 minutes)
